Flint AC / Delphi East Bankruptcy Auction – Ft. “Repo Man” by The Coup – Part 2

On October 19th 2006, international auction marketing and liquidation specialists Great American Group sold off bankrupt Delphi Corporation’s (GM’s primary supplier, “spun off” from the carmaker in 1999) spark plug manufacturing equipment (formerly AC Spark Plug) and other productive assets to bidders around the world from the Holiday Inn Gateway in Flint, Michigan. In a few short hours, the means of production at this historic facility which supported thousands of workers and was instrumental in WWII military production and the birth of “Rosie the Riveter” was gone, much of it sold and shipped to countries where exploited workers do the very same jobs on the very same machines for pennies a day.
