They can be. BUt if you get 2 people who really want a car, it can go high.
If you are going to bid on a car at an auction, decide before hand how much you want to spend, then stick to it.
Beware tho that the cars are usually repos that may not have been taken care of because the people knew they were going to lose it.
You do not get to drive it befor ebuying so it may have hidden problems.

Most public car auctions are full of crappy cars. Pieces of junk that most people & dealers don’t want.

There are a few dealers who will take nice cars there in an attempt to retail them, they will either never sell them on the block, have a friend bid it up to a high price or sell it outside the auction for a high price.

Unless you are a mechanic, there really are no steals. Theres junk and theres overpriced cars dealers wont sell without a hefty profit.

And a lot of “as is” cars that look fine but have hidden problems that become yours as soon as you buy it.

Theres more money at a bad dealer auction that a dozen public auctions.
